*Self Introduction
Contestants will compete in our Self Introduction Competition. Each contestant will get the chance to give a 30 second introduction about themselves onstage.  Introductions should include the contestants name, age, country, and some interesting information about the contestant. This is the chance for the contestant to let the judges get to know them. Introductions should be catchy and creative, but most of all fun!  Contestant should wear a black knee length or cocktail style dress while giving her introduction.

Here are a few examples of a self introduction:

Example 1

“What should I have for breakfast this morning? Eggs? Pancakes? Bacon? I know! I’ll have it all at Bob Evans restaurant. Did you know that Bob Evans restaurant started in a little town called Rio Grande? Well I did because that’s where I’m from! Rio Grande is also home to the University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande Community College. So, whether you’re looking for food or education, Rio Grande, Ohio is the place to be. Hope to see you down on the farm. I am Amber Miller.”

Example 2

“This is one country girl who loves my neighborhood! From playing flashlight tag after dark and hiding behind the hay bales in the field, to the smell of fresh country air and watching the Amish go by with their horse and buggy, there’s nothing better than the peace and quiet of the country life. Getting to help my neighbors and working with them to make my neighborhood a place where anyone would want to raise their children is so important to me. Coming to you from the beautiful country village of Patriot, Ohio, I am Jane Doe.”

Example 3 (for younger contestants)

"From riding my bike to playing tag at recess, I like to have fun! As a 3rd grader at East Elementary, I like to learn about math and science, except when I have to touch worms! But who knows, when I grow up, I just might be a scientist or veterinarian so I can have my own horse! I am 8 year old, Susie Smith."

*Personal Interview
